OSHKOSH, Wis. ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University womenÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s track and field team competed at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational onFriday night.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ NMU was second in the competition with 70 team points as thehost school won the event with 129 points.
Leslie Luehmann was third in the 55-meter hurdles (9.38)which was followed by Danielle St. OngeÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s second place showing in the 55 dash(7.74).ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ The ninth event of the meet saw the NMU 4x200 relay of Callie Boik,Kaylee Laakso, Luehmann and St. Onge run a 1:50.53 which was good for a secondplace showing.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Kara Farquhar was second in the 5,000 (18:50.63) with teammateJamie Grunert fifth in the event (19:15.42).
Brooke Rediger then was third in the mile (5:11.32).ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Stephanie Boyer won the 200 with a time of 26.43 as she was second in the 400(59.99).ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Laakso was fourth in the 200 with a time of 27.29.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Jane Stieberscored some point for the ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚˜Cats with a third place showing in the 3,000(11:10.40).ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚
The distance medley relay of Jessica Kalafut, Laakso, StephanieMishica and Rediger won the event with a clocking of 12:50.80.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Boyer placed ina field event as she was third in the long jump (15-06).ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Luehmann won thetriple jump with a leap of 33-8.5.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚
The team will compete next at the Carthage College/TaddMetzger Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 5.
