Two 'Cats Honored By CCHA As Players Of The Week

 

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. â€Â“ Two Northern Michigan University hockey players were honored by the CCHA as players of the week fortheir play against Bowling Green State University over the weekend.  TuomasTarkki and Mike Santorelli were honored by the conference.

 

Tarkki was named the Goaltender of the Week as he blocked61-of-64 shots (.953), in a weekend sweep of Bowling Green.  He leads the CCHAin overall goaltending with a 1.79 goals-against average and a .940 savepercentage.  In conference action, Tarkki is also the top goaltender with a1.49 GAA and a .946 save percentage.

 

Santorelli (2-1-3, +2) was selected as the Rookie of theWeek as he scored the winning goal and added an assist in Fridayâ€Â™s 3-1 win overBGSU.  He then added his team-leading 11th goal in Saturdayâ€Â™s 4-2victory over the Falcons.  Santorelli has 17 points on the season.
