ROMEOVILLE, Ill. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s swim team swam back into action over the weekend with a dual meet at Lewis University on Saturday (Jan. 15).  The Aqua-â€Â˜Cats won the meet 101-100. 


Sarah Dobratz won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of57.73 as teammate Cricket Knight was second (58.02).  Dobratz also captured the200 freestyle as she covered the eight laps of the pool in 2:00.01.  LindseyVermillion picked up a win for the team in the 500 freestyle (5:34.10) withEileen Vallin second in the race (5:49.35).  Vermillion was second in the 1000(11:24.28).  In the 50 freestyle NMU went second, third and fourth as AnnaHerman (26.39), Knight (26.65) and Catt Dougherty (27.24) placed for the team. 


Sam Pechek won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.39. NMU took the final event of the day the 200 freestyle relay as Pechek,Dougherty, Vermillion and Knight swam a 1:44.82.   


The divers were at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Sunday(Jan. 16).  Michelle Ruiz was second on both boards.  On the one-meter Ruizscored 379.0 points and on the three-meter she tallied 347.95 points.  AlexHolly was eighth on the one-meter (276.35) and the three-meter (291.55). Maggie Sorenson placed 15th on the one-meter (191.90) and 12thon the three-meter (243.45).


The Aqua-â€Â˜Cats will have their final dual meet of the seasonnext Saturday (Jan. 29) against Grand Valley State University at the PEIF Pool.
