MARQUETTE,Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University men's and women's basketball gameson Tuesday, Jan. 18 against the Michigan Tech Huskies have been designated as"Don 'Ducky' Perrin" night.  Long-time basketball and football scorerPerrin will be honored between the 5:30 p.m. women's game and the 7:30 p.m.men's game as the basketball scoring table is unveiled as the "DuckyPerrin Scorers Table".  Perrin has been keeping score for the women'sbasketball program for 20 years and for the men's program for over 25 years.

 

Perrin, a68-year-old Marquette native, has ties to many area sports programs. He iscurrently the scorekeeper for NMU's men's and women's basketball teams, thougha bout of cancer four years ago makes it difficult for him to write.  Perrinalso runs the scoreboard for Wildcat football games. He refereed area highschool basketball and umpired baseball for many years. He has been theannouncer for Redmen basketball for eight years and for Redette softball forfive years.  Perrin grew up playing baseball in the Marquette area and hassince gone on to put countless hours in at the field coaching people of allages.
