MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Northern Michigan University is currently implementing two events.  The committee iscurrently collecting cans and/or non-perishable food items.  There is a dropoff box located by the front door of the Superior Dome and student-athleteswill be out in the community until Nov. 22 to pick up the food items.  SAAC'sgoal is to collect 1,000 food items.

During thehockey game on Dec. 3 against Nebraska-Omaha, SAAC is sponsoring a teddy beartoss.  Bring a teddy bear to the game and toss it on the ice.  SAAC will thenbe collecting and giving the teddy bears to children in need of some Christmasjoy. Ã‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚
