ALLENDALE, Mich. â€Â“ The Grand Valley State UniversityLakers this season seem to have the â€Â˜Cats number as they defeated NMU on Fridaynight in four games (34-36, 30-24, 25-30, 23-30).  The Lakers downed the â€Â˜Catsin late September in five games in Marquette.  The loss probably eliminated theâ€Â˜Cats from hosting a first round match in the GLIAC Volleyball Tournament nextweek.  NMU is now 20-5 overall on the season and 12-5 in the GLIAC.  GVSUimproves to 24-4 and 16-1 in conference action.


Aimee Dewitte led the â€Â˜Cats on the night with 22 kills in 53attempts for a .302 hitting percentage.  She also added 20 digs and three blockassists.  Two other â€Â˜Cats had more than 10 kills as Holly Greenamyre added 12while teammate Ashley Kiel had 11. 


Two other NMU players had over 20 digs on the night as LizKohn led the way with 29 and Kiel added 21.  Beth Honaker led the â€Â˜Cats at thenet with two block solos and five block assists.  Greenamyre had two blocksolos and one block assist.  Andrea Smith had four block assists for thematch.  Brittany McGowan had a team-high 32 assists.


The â€Â˜Cats are back in action tomorrow (Nov. 6) at Ferris State.
