MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team played their season finale on Sunday afternoon at theNMU Soccer Field.  The game was delayed for about 50 minutes as the Mercyhurstteam was late arriving. When the game finally started 11 seniors were playingtheir final game for the â€Â˜Cats. 


Mercyhurst scored twice in the second half to take the game2-1. NMU ends the season with a 7-6-3 overall record and a 2-5-1 mark in theGLIAC.  The Lakers of Mercyhurst are now 12-6-1 and 4-3-0 in the conference.


Amanda Gadomski scored the opening goal of the game for NMUat 34:52 of the first half.  Marley Garceo assisted on the goal to give thehome team the early 1-0 lead.  The lead held up for almost 30 minutes untilKatie Dobson scored for the Lakers at 62:04 to tie the game at one-all.  ElinMinge put the game away with a goal at 82:28 for the final margin.


Karen LeBlanc went the distance in goal for the â€Â˜Cats as shehad seven saves on the day.  Karen Eade of Mercyhurst had three saves.  NMUmanaged 14 shots for the game as four were on target.  Mercyhurst tallied 29shots as nine were on the target.  The Lakers had two more corner kicks thanthe â€Â˜Cats at six to four.
