'Cats In Ot Again


 

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team dropped their second game in a row on Sunday with a 2-1overtime loss to Ferris State.  For the â€Â˜Cats it was their seventh overtimegame of the season and are 3-2-2 in those OT games.  NMU is 1-3 in their pastfour games.  With the loss the â€Â˜Cats are now 6-3-2 overall on the season and1-2-0 in the GLIAC.  Ferris improves to 7-6-1 and 1-2-0 in the conference.

 

With the â€Â˜Cats down 1-0 in the game, Kerri Vander Velden scoredoff a corner kick from Rachel Vilders at 77:44 to tie the score. Ã‚  The Bulldogswon the game when Lisa Oâ€Â™Brian scored off a pass to the middle of the field at95:09. 

 

Tabitha Magnan was in goal for the â€Â˜Cats as she registerednine saves on the day.  NMU had 20 shots as five were on goal.  FSU had 37shots with 11 on goal.  Corner kicks were almost even as the home team had sixcorner kicks while the â€Â˜Cats had five.

 

NMU plays a mid-week game against Northwood on Wednesday(Oct. 13) at 1:00 p.m. before entertaining Ashland on Saturday (Oct. 16) at1:00 p.m.
