ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University womenÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s cross country team ran away with another invitational title.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Thistime it was Border War Cross Country Invitational that was held at SouthernIllinois University on Saturday. ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ The ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚˜Cats placed two runners in the top sevenand tallied 70 team points to take the title.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Missouri Southern was secondwith 135 points.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚
Stephanie Howe led the points for the ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚˜Cats with her fourthplace finish with a time of 18:23.46.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Tami Kochen was the next ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚˜Cat to crossthe finish line as she was sixth (18:36.56).ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Jane Stieber was 14th(18:51.22) with teammates Brooke Rediger in 20th place (18:58.54)and Lindsay Williams in 26th (19:12.72).
The ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚˜Cats will host the U.P. Cross Country Championshipsthis Friday (Oct. 15) at 3:00 p.m. on a course that will cover the NMU campus.
