'Cats Run Away With Border Wars Team Title


 

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s cross country team ran away with another invitational title.  Thistime it was Border War Cross Country Invitational that was held at SouthernIllinois University on Saturday.  The â€Â˜Cats placed two runners in the top sevenand tallied 70 team points to take the title.  Missouri Southern was secondwith 135 points. 

 

Stephanie Howe led the points for the â€Â˜Cats with her fourthplace finish with a time of 18:23.46.  Tami Kochen was the next â€Â˜Cat to crossthe finish line as she was sixth (18:36.56).  Jane Stieber was 14th(18:51.22) with teammates Brooke Rediger in 20th place (18:58.54)and Lindsay Williams in 26th (19:12.72).

 

The â€Â˜Cats will host the U.P. Cross Country Championshipsthis Friday (Oct. 15) at 3:00 p.m. on a course that will cover the NMU campus.
