HILLSDALE, Mich. â€Â“ Senior Aimee Dewitte had 29 killsin this afternoonâ€Â™s volleyball contest, but the Northern Michigan University volleyball team lost to Hillsdale 3-2 (17-30, 30-25, 30-25, 27-30, 12-15).  Theâ€Â˜Cats are now 15-3 overall and 7-3 in the GLIAC while the Hillsdale Chargersimprove to 13-4 overall and 6-2 in the GLIAC after losing to Michigan Tech onFriday night.


Ten Wildcats saw action in the two hour match, includingthree freshmen.  Freshman setter Brittany McGowan played in all five gamesand led the Wildcats in assists with a career-high 60, while freshman StephanieCross played in four games and added six digs. The third freshman CarynVanBeckum had four kills on 17 attempts.


On top of Dewitteâ€Â™s 29 kills on 64 attempts and a hittingpercentage of .344, the senior middle blocker from St. Charles, Ill. added one service ace, 10 digs and one block.  Ashley Kiel was the second bestâ€Â˜Cat offensively with 20 kills on 52 attempts and a hitting percentage of .212. Kiel led the â€Â˜Cats defensively with 26 digs. 


The â€Â˜Cats continue with their GLIAC South road swing nextweek when they face Findlay on Friday (Oct. 15) and Ashland on Saturday (Oct.16).
