'Cats Win Third Straight Match


LITTLE LEADS THE 'CATS TO VICTORY

 

MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“This afternoonat the Vandament Arena it took the â€Â˜Cats just over an hour to beat theMercyhurst College Lakers 3-0 (30-18, 30-15, 30-21). The Northern MichiganUniversity Volleyball Wildcats have now defeated three conference foes in thelast six days to improve to 14-2 overall and 6-2 in the GLIAC.  The Lakers are now 4-15 overall and 0-8 inthe GLIAC.

 

The â€Â˜Cats were paced by senior Aimee Dewitte with 14 killson 31 attempts, five service aces, eight digs, and five block assists.  Ashley Kiel added 11 kills on 20 attempts,two service aces, 11 digs, and two block assists. Holly Greenamyre had 10 killson 10 attempts and two block assists for the â€Â˜Cats.  Kelly McCune led the team in assists with20. 

 

Next weekend the â€Â˜Cats travel to lower Michigan to take on Wayne Stateand Hillsdale on Oct. 8-9 respectively, which begins a four-match road swingfor the team.  The â€Â˜Cats are not homeagain until Oct. 23-24 when they host Saginaw Valleyand Northwood.
