'Cats Down Golden Knights


LITTLE LEADS THE 'CATS TO VICTORY

 

MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ The NorthernMichigan University Volleyball â€Â˜Cats beat the Gannon University Golden Knights3-0 (30-22, 30-24, 30-19) on Saturday afternoon, improving their record to 13-2overall and 5-2 in the GLIAC.  Gannon Universityis now 10-9 on the year and 1-5 in the GLIAC. 

 

Twelve Wildcats saw action in todayâ€Â™s game, combining for 48kills on 119 attempts for a hitting percentage of .252.  Once again, the â€Â˜Cats were led offensively bysenior outside hitter Aimee Dewitte with 11 kills on25 attempts.  Dewittealso added eight digs.  Holly Greenamyrehad 10 kills on 20 attempts with an impressive hitting percentage of .450.  Kelli McCune handedout 16 assists while teammate Stephanie Cross added 14 assists. 

 

Defensively the Wildcats were led by sophomore Ashley Kielwith 17 digs and eight blocks (one solo and eight assisted). Kiel also had three service aces in the matchfor the â€Â˜Cats. 

 

The â€Â˜Cats are in action again tomorrow (Oct. 3) when theyhost the Mercyhurst Lakers at 1:00 p.m. in VandamentArena.
