UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. â€Â“Almost 24 hours after dropping their first regular season match in almost twoseasons, the Northern Michigan University volleyball team got back in the wincolumn with a three-game win (30-23, 30-20, 31-29) over the Saginaw ValleyState Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.  NMU is now 10-1 overall on the season and2-1 in the GLIAC.  The Cardinals fall to 2-13 and 0-3 in the conference.


Aimee Dewitte and Andrea Smith led the way in the killcategory with 18 and 16 kills respectively.  Dewitte ended the match with ahitting percentage of .417 as she had 36 total attempts.  She also had twoservice aces, 10 digs and four block assists.  Smith collected three serviceaces for the match-high honor.


Ashley Kiel and Liz Kohn led the defensive effort with 13and 11 digs respectively.  Kiel added one block solo and four block assists inthe win.  Kelli McCune had 21 assists to pace the â€Â˜Cats on the afternoon. 


The â€Â˜Cats will be back home next weekend with two matches. First on the schedule is Ferris State on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.  The next day (Sept. 25), Grand Valley State will play the â€Â˜Cats at 4 p.m.
