'Cats Win In Extra Time


 

MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ It took the Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team over 100 minutes of play on Sunday todefeat Moorhead State, 1-0.  After 90 minutes of play it was even at0-0.  Rachel Vilders kicked the bouncing ball that was in front of the netto the back of the net at 108:47 of the second OT period for the win.  NMUis now 2-0 on the season while Moorhead is 0-2.

 

Karen LeBlanc also registered her first back-to-back shutoutin her NMU career as she had two saves on the day.  NMU dominated the gameas the â€Â˜Cats had 20 shots on goal and nine corner kicks.

 

The â€Â˜Cats are back in action at home on Monday, Sept. 6against Minnesota-Duluth at 4:00 p.m.
