MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ Northern StarBroadcasting and WNGE, 99.5, â€ÂœGood Times, Great Oldies,â€Â the new radio home forthe â€Â˜Cats, have selected the final piece of the broadcasting team with thehiring of Dave Danis to handle the play-by-play for the hockey broadcast. 


â€ÂœIâ€Â™m very pleased to be able to add Dave to our broadcastteam,â€Â Chris Monk, the Vice President of Northern Star Broadcasting, said.  â€ÂœHehas a stellar background and is considered to be one of the best play-by-playannouncers at the collegiate level.â€Â


The Hancock native and currently a Marquette resident, Danisis a graduate of Northern Michigan University.  He was the televisionplay-by-play announcer for Wildcat football, basketball, hockey and volleyballfrom 1990-94.  Danis also served as a broadcaster for the Louisiana Rangers ofthe Indoor Professional Football League, the Alexandria Aces of theTexas-Louisiana Baseball League and the South Carolina Stingrays professionalhockey team.

NMU Athletic Director Ken Godfrey also praised the selectionof Danis.

Danis will join broadcasting veteran Dave Mingay in theradio booth for the hockey broadcast.
