MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University menâ€Â™s cross country ski team recently competed at the NCAA SkiingChampionships which were held in Truckee, Calif. Ã‚  The â€Â˜Cats finished in 12thplace with 198.5 points as New Mexico won the championships with 623 points.


Bryan Cook led the â€Â˜Cats in the 10k freestyle technique racewith an eighth place in a time of 22:20.5, which earned him NCAA All-Americahonors.  Teammates, Hjalmar Westie placed 32nd (24:13.0) and JoeyGraci was 36th (25:10.7) in the race.


Cook again was the top â€Â˜Cat in the 20K classic as he skiedto a 14th place showing in the event as he covered the course in54:22.2.  Graci was the next NMU skier as he was 25th (58:06.4) andteammate Westie was 27th (58:49.7).
