Lindsey Weier Leads 'Cats At Ncaa Nationals


 

MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s cross country ski team recently competed at the NCAA SkiingChampionships which were held in Truckee, Calif.  Ã‚ The â€Â˜Cats finished in 12thplace with 198.5 points as New Mexico won the championships with 623 points.

 

Lindsay Williams led the â€Â˜Cats in the 5K freestyle techniquerace as she was 24th in the event with a time of 12:50.5.  She wasfollowed by Lindsey Weier in the 28th place slot (12:55.1) andRachel Daw who was 35th in the event (13:19.8). 

 

The next cross county race on the schedule was the 15Kclassic event as Weier earned NCAA All-America honors by placing sixth in theevent with a clocking of 53:31.0.  Williams was the next â€Â˜Cat to ski across thefinish line as she was 19th (55:26.3).  Daw placed 27thin the race (55:52.5).
