BOWLING GREEN, Ohio â€Â“ For the secondweekend in a row the â€Â˜Cats picked up one point on the weekend as they did notlose at BGSU on Saturday, but skated to a 2-2 tie.  Entering the game onSaturday night the â€Â˜Cats were 0-4 in the past four games at the BGSU IceArena.  NMU is now 16-14-4 on the season and 11-13-2 in the CCHA with two games to go in the regular season.  BGSU is now 10-16-9 and 8-13-6.


Pat Bateman struck first for the â€Â˜Cats, with his fifth goalof the season, at 14:50 of the second period to give NMU the 1-0 lead.  MattMaunu and Darin Olver assisted on the goal.  The Falcons would tie the scorewith just nine second left in the period as a diving James Unger knocked thepuck past Craig Kowalski to even the score at one-all.


Rob Lehtinen would give the â€Â˜Cats the 2-1 lead with hisseventh goal of the season at 11:26 of the third period.  Matt Ciancio andDusty Collins assisted on the goal.  BGSU would tie the game and send it toextra time when Jonathan Sigaletâ€Â™s shot found its way into the goal at 16:01 of the period.


BGSU had six shots in the extra period while the â€Â˜Cats hadthree.  Neither team scored on the power play on the night as NMU was blankedin two opportunities while BGSU and five chances.


Kowalski was awarded the first star of the game for hisperformance of 41 saves.  Jordan Sigalet was given the second star for his 24saves on the night.  The two are now tied again at the top spot in the PeraniCup Individual Standings.


NMU will conclude the regular season portion of the schedulenext weekend when the â€Â˜Cats host the Ferris State Bulldogs (March 5-6) as thepuck will drop at 7:35 p.m. both nights.
