MARQUETTE, Mich.-  For the second game in a row,Billy Hill played the hero as he sank a three-pointer with less than a minuteleft in the game as the â€Â˜Cats defeated the visiting St. Cloud State Huskies onSaturday at the Berry Events Center by a score of 81-80.  The three-pointer by Hill gave the â€Â˜Cats thelead at 79-75.  Marco Volcy added alay-up with less than 30 seconds left in the game to give the â€Â˜Cats the lead at81-78.  The Huskies made two free throwsfor the final margin with 13 seconds left.

With the win the â€Â˜Cats have now wontheir past two games and are now 6-5 on the season.  St. Cloudis now 9-3. 

Hill coming off the bench wasalmost perfect for the game as he had a team-high 20 points.  He was 7-of-8 from the floor, 4-of-4 inthree-pointers and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.  Hill added five rebounds, two assists and twosteals in the win.

The Huskies had the early lead inthe game as they held a 42-32 advantage at the intermission.  St. Cloudbuilt the lead to as high as 13 points in the second half.  Antwuan Holt hit a three-pointer with 2:38 left in regulation to tie the game at73-all.  The Huskies scored to take thelead once again at 75-73 with 1:41left in the game.  That was the last leadthat the Huskies would have in the game.

The â€Â˜Cats shot a sizzling 66.7percent from the floor in the second half as the squad was 18-of-27.  For the game the â€Â˜Cats were 30-of-54 for 55.6percent from the floor.  NMU was 8-of-14in three-pointers (57.1 percent) and 13-of-26 from the charity stripe (50percent) for the game.  The Huskies hadfour more rebounds that the â€Â˜Cats at 35 to 31 rebounds.

Holt had 17 points for thegame.  Claude Delmas playing in his Wildcatdebut had 12 points, two assists and four rebounds.  M. Volcy added 12 points and nine rebounds.

NMU will now focus on GLIAC play asthe face Wayne Stateon Tuesday (January 6) and Hillsdale on Thursday (January 8).  Both games are at the Berry Events Center.
