MIDLAND, Mich.â€Ã‚“ The NMU menâ€Ã‚™s basketball team dropped their third game in row on Saturdaynight at Northwood by a score of 78-65. With the loss the â€Ã‚˜Cats are winless in the GLIAC at 0-2 and are 4-4overall in the standings.  The Timberwolvesare now 5-4 and 1-3 in the conference.

The â€Ã‚˜Cats shot a respectable 44.4percent (16-36) in the first half, but the home team shot 53.8 percent (14-26)as the Timberwolves held onto a three point lead at the intermission with a40-37 score.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats took the lead whenAntwuan Holt hit a three-pointer at the 12:05 mark of the first half to give theâ€Ã‚˜Cats the 12-10 lead.  From the 10 minutepoint on in the first half the game was tied five times as the Timberwolvesbuilt a seven point lead with less than 40 seconds to go before intermission.  Holt and Billy Hill made two consecutivebaskets to get to the margin of the three points at the half.

The second half was all Northwoodas the Timberwolves built a lead to as many as 20 points with 11:49 left in the game.  NMU had cut the lead to 10 points with lessthan a minute left before Northwood made three of four free throws down thestretch.

Holt led the â€Ã‚˜Cats on the nightwith 24 points.  He was 10-18 from thefloor, 3-8 from the three-point line and went to the charity stripe once andmade the shot.  Ricky Volcy off the benchhad 15 points and seven rebounds.

For the game the â€Ã‚˜Cats were 39.7percent from the floor (27-68), 22.7 percent from three-point range (5-22) andwere 60 percent from the line (6-10). The â€Ã‚˜Cats did win the glass with 42 rebounds on the night to Northwoodâ€Ã‚™s30.
