ROCHESTER, Mich.â€Ã‚“ The Aqua-â€Ã‚˜Cats swam against OaklandUniversity and the University of Toledo on Thursday night in adouble dual. The Aqua-â€Ã‚˜Cats dropped bothsides of the meet as Toledo won193-85 and the host school came out on top of the 199-77 score. Oakland also defeated Toledo 167-118.
A highlight of the night was when SamPechek and Shelly Ruspakkaplaced third and fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with times of 1:03.82 and1:06.04 respectively to pace the Aqua-â€Ã‚˜Cats. Kathie Cole placed third on the one-meter board (246.05) and fourth onthe three-meter (239.50).ÂÂÂÂ
The 200 medley relay of LindseyVermillion, Ruspakka, Kara Freeburyand Cricket Knight swam a 2:04.87 in the first event of the meet. Vermillion swam the 400 I.M. in a time of5:09.87 as she placed fifth in the event.ÂÂÂÂ
The final event of the meet, the400 freestyle relay of Anna Herman, Pechek, Knight and Sarah Bartosh swam a 3:46.34.
The team is back in action onSaturday (November 22) at Hillsdale with WayneState.
