Pechek, Graham And Cole Pick Up Wins Array For Aqua-'Cats

 

GREEN BAY, Wis. â€Ã‚“ The Aqua-â€Ã‚˜Cats were in action onFriday night at UW-Green Bayalong with Butler University.  UW-Green Bay won the meet with 130 points asNMU was second with 70 and Butlerwas third with 37.

The Aqua-â€Ã‚˜Cats started the meet strong with a second placeshowing, in the first event of the night, the 400-yard medley relay as Shelly Ruspakka, Larisa Graham, Sarah Bartosh andSam Pechek swam a 4:10.09 in the event.  Pechek then pickedup NMUâ€Ã‚™s first win on the night in the 200 freestyleas she swam a 1:58.14 to capture the event and give the Aqua-â€Ã‚˜Cats the ninepoints for the event.  She also placedthird in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.93.

Graham would follow that up four events later with a win inthe 200 I.M. as she swam the eight laps in a time of 2:15.48.  Lindsey Vermillion was third in the 1000freestyle as she swam an 11:24.05. 

Kathie Cole placed second on the one-meter board as shescored 251.25 points, just missing first place by a little over threepoints.  She would come back later in themeet to capture the three-meter event with 248.45 points.

The Aqua-â€Ã‚˜Cats will dive back into action next week whenthey will travel down state to swim against Oaklandand Eastern Michigan.
