OMAHA, Neb.â€Ã‚“ The road woes continued for the NMU Wildcats on Friday night at the QwestCenter Omaha as the Mavericks defeated the â€Ã‚˜Cats 2-1. It was NMUâ€Ã‚™s first visit to the new home ofthe Mavericks. The â€Ã‚˜Cats have yet to wina game on the road for the 2003-04 season. With the loss the â€Ã‚˜Cats drop to 4-5-0overall and 3-4-0 in theCCHA. Nebraska-Omaha improves to 2-6-1 and 2-4-1 in the conference.ÂÂÂÂ
Jamie Milam scored the lone goal for the â€Ã‚˜Cats on the nightwith a power-play goal at 17:05 ofthe first period. It was his fourth goalof the season as he had a total of five goals for the 2002-03 campaign. Darin Olver and Nathan Oystrick assisted onthe goal.
The Mavericks would tie the game with a goal by Scott Parseat 2:49 of the second period. The game-winner came from Brent Kisio at 2:23 of the final period.
Craig Kowlaski had 27 saves on the night for the â€Ã‚˜Cats. He was named the third star of the game as hewas leading the CCHA in the Perani Cup standings entering the game onFriday.ÂÂÂÂ
The â€Ã‚˜Cats had five chances on the power play on Friday nightand converted one for a goal. UNO wasshut out in three tries on the power play.
The two teams will play against on Saturday night (November15).
