Little Leads The Way Against Tech


 

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.â€Ã‚“ After being named to the All-GLIAC Volleyball Team as a first teamselection earlier in the day, Jennie Little led theâ€Ã‚˜Cats to a first round win at the 2003 GLIAC Volleyball Tournament over NMUâ€Ã‚™sarch rival, the Huskies from Michigan Tech. Ã‚ The â€Ã‚˜Cats finished off the Huskies on Thursday night in three straightgames by scores of 30-28, 30-21, 31-29 to advance to the next round.  NMU stays perfect on the season with a 24-0mark.  MTU ends the season with a 12-20overall record.

Little led the way with 13 killswith three errors in 28 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .357.  No other player for NMU had double-digitkills for the match.

Kelli McCune had a match-high 24 assistsfor day.  Aimee Dewitte another member ofthe All-GLIAC first team had eight digs on the defensive front to go along withher six block assists and one block solo. 

Ashley Kiel, a second team pick tothe all-conference team, registered a match-leading 16 digs and two blockassists.  Liz Kohn added 14 digs in thewin.

The â€Ã‚˜Cats will face Gannon in thesemifinal round of the 2003 GLIAC Volleyball Tournament on Friday, November 14at 5:00 p.m.
