HUDSONVILLE, Mich. â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan Universitywomenâ€Ã‚™s cross country team qualified for the NCAA II National Cross CountryChampionships that will be held November 22 at the SAS Soccer Park in Cary,N.C., with their second place finish at the NCAA II Great Lakes RegionalChampionship that was held on Saturday, November 8.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats tallied 82 points as Grand Valley won the title with 35 points.  The top four teams qualified for nationals asSouthern Indiana wasthird and Wayne State was fourth.

Jennifer Lahr led the way for the â€Ã‚˜Cats with a seventh placefinish with a time of 22:14.1.  TamiKochen was the next placer for the â€Ã‚˜Cats in 14th place (22:34.0) asteammate Maria Stuber was next in the event(22:36.0).  Lahr, Kochen and Stuber were all named to the All-Great Lakes Region Team.

Also scoring points were Stephanie Howe in 17thplace (22:36.9) and Jane Stieber in 29th place (22:56.4).  Tracy Wills was 38th with a timeof 23:12.4 and Jessica Kalafut was 47th with a time of 23:25.7.
