MARQUETTE, Mich.â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Ã‚™s volleyball teamrolled to their 21st victory on the season with a three game win(30-18, 30-19, 30-24) over the visiting Lake Superior State Lakers on Saturdayafternoon on the floor of the Vandament Arena. The â€Ã‚˜Cats are now 21-0 on the season and 16-0 in the GLIAC.  The Lakers fall to 7-21 overall and 4-12 inthe conference. 

This team is approaching the win record for the â€Ã‚˜Cats tostart the season, which is 28 games. That record was set under current â€Ã‚˜Cat Head Coach Jim Moore in 1993,when the team went 38-1 and won the NCAA II National Title.  That team lost their only match of the seasonto CSU-Bakersfield on October 30, 1993.

Back to 2003 and the match against Lake State on Saturday.  Beth Honaker led the â€Ã‚˜Cats on the day with 13kills, five digs, one block solo and four block assists.  Jennie Little added 12 kills, two serviceaces, two digs and one block assist.

Andrea Smith had three service aces, three digs and oneblock assist on the day.  On thedefensive front Kelli McCune had eight digs, while freshman Ashley Kiel addedsix.

The team has their final regular season home matches nextweekend when they will face Grand Valley on Friday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. andFerris State the next day (November 8) at 4:00 p.m.
