Marshall Is All The 'Cats Needed


 

ERIE, Pa.â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan womenâ€Ã‚™s soccer team hasfound something the last two games.  Theâ€Ã‚˜Cats won their second game in a row on Friday afternoon as they defeated Gannon University by a 2-0 count.  NMU is now 10-6-1 overall on the season and 2-4-0 in the GLIAC.  Gannon falls to 2-14-0 and 1-5-0in the conference.

Hanna Marshall is all the â€Ã‚˜Cats needed on the day as shescored both goals for the squad.  Her firstgoal was scored at 37:30 of the game on an assist from Carolyn Kunas and AprilGieseke.  She knocked home her secondgoal of the game at 51:19, when she kicked the rebound into the back of thenet.  The goal was unassisted.

Alyse Shier went the distance in goal for the â€Ã‚˜Cats as shehad 11 saves on the day to record the shutout. Gannon had the shot advantage on the day as they out shot the â€Ã‚˜Cats by a20 to 15 count.

NMU will play their second game in Erieon Sunday against Mercyhurst.
