MARQUETTE, Mich.â€Ã‚“ The largest crowd of the season saw the NMU womenâ€Ã‚™s volleyball team keepthe streak alive as they defeated the Michigan Tech Huskies in three straighton Wednesday night in front of over 770 people. The match was the â€Ã‚˜Cats sixth straight of going only the threegames.  The last time a match went morethan three games was on October 12 when Wayne State took the â€Ã‚˜Cats to fourgames. 

The first two games of the match the â€Ã‚˜Cats cruised by scoresof 30-19 and 30-21.  NMU had to clawtheir way to a win in the third and final game of the night, as they won thegame by two points (30-28).  With the winthe â€Ã‚˜Cats are now 20-0 overall on the season and 15-0 in the GLIAC.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats are the only undefeated team inNCAA II volleyball and are ranked 16th in the latest AVCA Poll.  Tech falls to 11-17 on the season and 6-9 inthe conference.

NMU had 53 kills on the night as Beth Honaker led the waywith 13 kills as Andrea Smith chipped in with 11.  Aimee Dewitte was the lone â€Ã‚˜Cat to havedouble-digit digs as she ended the night with 11 digs.

The assist duo of Anne (Kinsella) Hasenstab and Kelli McCuneled the way for the match with 18 and 12 assists respectively.   Ã‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚ 

The team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon,November 1 at 4:00 p.m., when theywill face the other U.P. GLIAC school the Lake Superior State Lakers atVandament Arena.
