MARQUETTE, Mich.- It was Senior Day at the NMU soccer game on Sunday against Saginaw Valley.  Rachel Vilders scored the first two goals ofthe game to help the â€Ã‚˜Cats cruise to a 4-0 win over the Cardinals.  With the win NMU is now 9-6-1 overall and pick up their first GLIAC win onthe season (1-4-0).  NMU also snapped a four-game losingskid.  SVSU drops on the season to 5-8-1 overall and 0-6-0 in conferenceplay.

Vilders found the back of the net at 10:48 of the game off of a free kick to give the â€Ã‚˜Cats the1-0 lead.  Vilders made it 2-0 aboutthree minutes later off an assist from Betsy Hubert.  Senior Carolyn Kunas, who will leave theprogram as the all-time leader in career goals added to her count with a goalat 26:54 of the game on an assist from Vilders to make it 3-0.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats final score came off the foot of Hanna Marshall withan assist from Michelle Gillespie.

Jamie Rocho and Alyse Shier shared time in goal on theday.  Rocho played the first 45 minutesand had four saves.  Shier played thesecond half and had three saves.

The â€Ã‚˜Cats will travel to Erie, Pa. next weekend to face Gannon andMercyhurst.
