'Cats Stay Perfect At Northwood


 

MIDLAND, Mich.â€Ã‚“ With a season-high ranking of 19th in this weekâ€Ã‚™s AVCA Pollthe â€Ã‚˜Cats hit the road for two matches this weekend.  First up was Northwood on Saturdayafternoon.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats were challenged abit in the first game, but pulled it out 31-29 before taking the next two gamesby scores of 30-23  and 30-20 to stayperfect on the season.  With the win theâ€Ã‚˜Cats have rattled off 18 overall matches (18-0) and 13 GLIAC matches (13-0)wins on the season.  Northwood is now17-10 overall and 10-5 in conference play.

Andrea Smith had a team-high 12 kills on 26 attempts on theday as teammates Beth Honaker and Holly Greenamyre both had 11 kills.  Anne (Kinsella) Hasenstab and Kelli McCuneboth dished out 21 assists each to share team-honors. 

Aimee Dewitte added five service aces and 10 digs in thewin.  As a team the â€Ã‚˜Cats had 19 kills inthe second game on 38 attempts for a hitting percentage of .421.

NMU faces Saginaw Valleytomorrow afternoon for their second game of their road swing.
