ASHLAND, Ohioâ€Ã‚“ The NMU womenâ€Ã‚™s soccer team was defeated by the Ashland Eagles onSaturday afternoon by a 2-0 count.  TheEagles scored both of their goals in the first half as they happened about aminute apart.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats are now 8-5-1 overall and 0-3 in theGLIAC.  Ashlandmoves up to 12-1 and 3-0 in conference action.

Tara Pifer scored the first goal at the 42:00 then MariaManzon scored at 43:00.  The Eaglesregistered 40 shots on the afternoon as the â€Ã‚˜Cats could only manage three shots.  Alyse Shier playing her first game in goalfor the â€Ã‚˜Cats had 12 saves on the day.

NMU continues with their Ohio GLIAC South swing by playingat The University of Findlay on Sunday morning (Oct. 19 at 11:00 a.m.).
