'Cats Drop Game In Extra Period

 

MARQUETTE, Mich.â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Ã‚™s soccer teamentered the weekend with a five-game winning streak, they left the weekend witha two-game skid.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats with the 2-1overtime loss to Ferris Stateon Sunday are now 8-4-1 onthe season and 0-2-0 in the GLIAC.  Ferris State improves to 7-2-0 and 3-0-0 in the conference.

Michelle Brown gave the â€Ã‚˜Cats the early lead which wouldstand up for over 60 minutes of play. Her goal came at 11:53 of thegame.  Ferris State would tie the game with agoal at 76:33.  Emile Rogers scored thegame-winner 1:18 (91:18) into theextra period.

NMU had 19 shots to the Bulldogs eight on the day.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats had 12 shots on goal while theBulldogs had four.  Corner kicks wereeven as both teams had four.

The â€Ã‚˜Cats are on the road next week as they travel to Ohioto take on GLIAC foes Ashland(October 18) and Findlay (October19).
