MARQUETTE, Mich.â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Ã‚™s soccer teamentered their contest against Grand Valleyon Saturday riding a five-game winning streak. The Lakers were ranked fourth in this weekâ€Ã‚™s NSCAA/adidas NationalRankings. When the dust had settled after 90 minutes of play the Lakers cameout on top of the scoring by a 4-1 count. With the loss the â€Ã‚˜Cats are now 8-3-1overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC.  The Lakersimprove to 11-1-0 and 2-0in conference play.

Carolyn Kunas gave the â€Ã‚˜Cats the early lead when she stolethe ball and drove it home for an unassisted goal at the 13:05 mark of the game. The lead stood up until Mirela Tutundzic scored for the Lakers at 31:24to tie the game at one-all.

GVSU would take the lead for good on an unassisted goal byApril Raynovich at 39:51.  The Lakerswould go on to score two more goals for the final margin.

GVSU had the advantage in the shot department by a 24 to nine margin.
