ALLENDALE, Mich. â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan Universitywomenâ€Ã‚™s volleyball team sent a very strong message to the NCAA II volleyballcommunity with a three game victory over the 20th ranked team in thecountry on Sunday.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats defeatedGrand Valley on the afternoon 30-26, 30-26, 30-17 to go to 10-0 on the seasonand 5-0 in the GLIAC.  The Lakers fall to12-5 and 4-1 in the conference.

Jennie Little had a match-high 12 kills to go along with herthree block solos.  Beth Honakercontributed with 10 kills and five digs. Anne (Kinsella) Hasenstab had a team-high 27 assists and nine digs.  Liz Kohn came up big on the defensive frontwith her match-high 14 digs.  Ashley Kielhad 10 digs on the afternoon to go along with her five block assists.  Andrea Smith was sharp with her serve as shehad a match-high three service aces.

The â€Ã‚˜Cats travel to Erie, take on Mercyhurst (Oct. 3) and Gannon (Oct. 4) this coming week.
