MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Ã‚™s cross countryteam successfully defended their title at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota on Saturdayafternoon.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats placed threerunners in the top 12 to score 67 team points as South Dakota was second with80 points.

Jennie Lahr led the â€Ã‚˜Cats for the second week in a row asshe placed fourth with a time of 18:44.  Tami Kochen was next for NMU as she was sixth(18:49).  The third member of the squad to place in thetop 12 was Maria Stuber with a time of 19:02.  Stephanie Howe was 21st with atime of 19:17 as Jessica Kalafut was24th with a time of 19:21.

The â€Ã‚˜Cats have next weekend off as they will run again atthe Great Lakes Pre-Regional at Grand Valley State Universityon October 10.
