'Cats Keep Rolling Along

 

MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Ã‚“The â€Ã‚˜Cats just keep rolling along as they won their eighth straight match onSunday over Saginaw Valley in three straight games (30-11, 31-29, 30-17). Ã‚  The last time the â€Ã‚˜Cats had eight wins in arow to start the season was in 1993, when they won the NCAA II NationalChampionship, and finished the season with a 38-1 overall record.  NMU is now 8-0 and 3-0 in the GLIAC.  Saginaw Valley drops to 1-11 and 0-4 in theconference.

Jennie Little again led the â€Ã‚˜Cats with 14 kills in 22attempts for a .500 hitting percentage. Aimee Dewitte added 11 kills while Andrea Smith had 10. 

Anne (Kinsella) Hastenstab had 26 assists and seven digs inthe win.  Liz Kohn on the defensive endhad 17 digs while Ashley Kiel had 12.  Kielalso was active at the net as she tallied nine block assists.

The â€Ã‚˜Cats will be away from Marquette for their next fourmatches as they have on the schedule a trip next weekend to take on FerrisState (Sept. 26) and Grand Valley State (Sept. 28).
