'Cats Need Four Games To Stay Perfect

 

MARQUETTE, Mich.â€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University volleyball team remainedunbeaten on the season as they disposed of Northwood in four games (30-26,30-21, 31-33, 30-24) on Saturday afternoon at the VandamentArena.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats rolled to a quick twogame lead over the Timberwolves and won the fourthgame to run their record to 7-0 and 2-0 in the GLIAC.  Northwood falls to 9-6 and 2-1 in theconference. Ã‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚ 

This weekâ€Ã‚™s GLIAC North Division Player of the Week, Jennie Little had 14 kills on the afternoon to go along with herthree digs and three block assists. Ashley Kiel also had 14 kills with no errors on the afternoon and ateam-high 18 digs.

Anne (Kinsella) Hasenstab and Kelli McCune ledthe assists for the â€Ã‚˜Cats as they combined for 50 assists.  Hasenstab tallied30 helpers while McCune had 20.

NMU is back in action on Sunday (Sept. 21) at 1:00 p.m. as they host Saginaw Valley.
