KENOSHA, Wis.â€Ã‚“ The NMU womenâ€Ã‚™s cross country team won the Midwest Cross CountryChampionships at UW-Parkside on Saturday.  The â€Ã‚˜Cats tallied 45 points as fellow GLIACmember, Wayne State was second with 82 points.

All five of the NMU runners who scored were in the top 12for the race.  Jennifer Lahr led the waywith a sixth place finish as she covered the 5,000 meter course in 18:28 asteammate Tami Kochen was seventh with a time of 18:36.  Two places behind Kochen in ninth place wasMaria Stuber as she ran the course in a time of 18:42.

The next two scorers for the â€Ã‚˜Cats were Stephanie Howe inthe 11th and Jane Stieber in the 12th spot.  Howe ran the course in a time of 18:50 while Stieber was one second back at 18:51.

The runners are at the Roy GriakInvitational at the University of Minnesotanext Saturday (Sept. 27).
