'Cats Arrive In West Virginia With Hurricane Isabel

 

CHARLESTON, W. Va. â€Ã‚“The Wildcats arrived in West Virginiaabout the same time that Hurricane Isabel was making its way into the state asthe team was preparing to play the University of Charleston on Thursdaynight.  NMU scored a goal in each half todefeat Charleston 2-0.  NMU is now 5-2-1 on the season.

Michelle Brown scored the first goal for the â€Ã‚˜Cats at 28:06of the game.  Carolyn Kunas, NMUâ€Ã‚™sleading scorer, added to her count with a goal at 55:45 of the game.  She now has six goals on the season.  Both goals were unassisted.

For the game the â€Ã‚˜Cats had 14 shots to Charlestonâ€Ã‚™sfour.  NMU had three corner kicks to onefor the home team.

Hurricane Isabel also caused the â€Ã‚˜Cats game on Fridayagainst Davis and Elkins to be cancelled.  The field was underwater after the heavy rainsof yesterday. Ã‚ 

NMU has one more game on their West Virginia swing as they will play at West VirginiaTech on Sunday (Sept. 21) at 11:00 a.m.
