DULUTH, Minn.â€Ã‚“ The NMU cross country team dominated the Lester Park Invite that was heldon Saturday in Duluth, Minn.  The five runners who could score the pointsfor the â€Ã‚˜Cats all placed in the top six. NMU scored 19 points to win the event as Michigan Tech was second with63 points.

Tami Kochen won the event as she covered the 5K course in19:00.0.  Second place went to SaraFrederickson of Minnesota-Duluth with a time of 19:06.0.  Then the next four places belong to the Greenand Gold of NMU.  Jennifer Lahr was thirdin a time of 19:10.4.  Maria Stuber wasfourth (19:26.7), Jane Stieber was fifth (19:32.6) and Stephanie Howe was sixth(19:36.6) to round out the team scoring. 

The â€Ã‚˜Cats had two more runners place in the top 11, but theywere not eligible for team points. Jessica Kalafut was ninth (19:38.7) as teammate Tracy Wills was 11th(19:45.0).

Next week the â€Ã‚˜Cats are at the Midwest Cross CountryChampionships, which will be held at UW-Parkside.
