HANOVER, N.H. â€Ã‚“ After the first day of competition atthe 2003 NCAA Skiing Menâ€Ã‚™s and Womenâ€Ã‚™s National Collegiate Championships theâ€Ã‚˜Cats are in sixth place with 129 points. The University of New Mexico is leading the team race after the firstday with 169 points.

Chris Cook placed fourth in the menâ€Ã‚™s 10k freestyletechnique with a time of 24:50.9.  Byplacing fourth Cook earned NCAA All-American honors.  A skier must place in the top 10 to earn the honor.

Dave Duede and Jon Filardo were also in the event for theâ€Ã‚˜Cats.  Duede was 30th with atime of 26:22.1 while Filardo was 34th with a time of 26:34.9.

The next event for the Nordic skiers is Friday, March 7thwith the menâ€Ã‚™s 20k classical.
