SOLLEFTEA, Sweden â€Ã‚“ Two members of the NMU crosscountry ski team competed at the nordic World Junior Championships on Tuesday(Feb. 4).  The temperature was in thelow teens for the skiers.

Lindsey Weier was the top U.S. finisher in the mass-start15K freestyle technique race with a 15th place finish(49:44.2).  Ekaterina Vorontsova ofRussia won the race in a time of 46:37.7. 

On the menâ€Ã‚™s side, Bryan Cook was the top U.S. finisher inthe menâ€Ã‚™s mass-start 30K freestyle technique. Cook skated the course in a time of 1:35.51.9 and placed 48thin the event.  Norwegian Chris Jespersenwon the menâ€Ã‚™s race with a time of 1:23.13.5.

The next cross country race at the World Juniors happens onThursday with the menâ€Ã‚™s 10K and womenâ€Ã‚™s 5K classic technique events.
