CAMP FORTUNE, Quebec â€Ã‚“ The NMU womenâ€Ã‚™s alpine skiteam is competing at the St. Lawrence Carnival this weekend.  After the first day of competition the teamis ninth place with 27.5 points in the slalom event as the University ofVermont is leading the slalom event with 86 points.  The event includes cross country skiing.  Overall the â€Ã‚˜Cats are in 11thplace.

In the womenâ€Ã‚™s slalom on Saturday, Jazz Centauro led theâ€Ã‚˜Cats with a 30th place showing in the event.  She covered the course in 1:48.26.  Danielle Denbleyker was 35th in atime of 1:51.00. 

Lori Hellowell was the next â€Ã‚˜Cat to place as she was 43rd(1:54.62).  Kate Hosking was 46th(1:55.43) and Meri Koski was 52nd (2:02.90) for NMU.

The event will conclude on Sunday.
