
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio â€Ã‚“ The Wildcats will be glad tosee Bowling Green, Ohio in the rear view mirror as they travel north on I-75back towards Marquette. For the secondnight in a row and the third time in the last three games in Bowling Green, theFalcons defeated the Wildcats on Saturday night by a score of 5-3.
With the loss NMU is now 10-9-1 overall and 8-6-0 in theCCHA. While the BGSU Falcons improve to5-13-2 and 3-10-2.ÂÂÂÂ
Jamie Milam scored his second goal of the season on thepower play at the 4:38  mark of theopening period to give NMU the early 1-0 lead. Freshmen Juha Alen and Dirk Southern assisted on the goal.
Alex Sawruk would score the next two goals to give the â€Ã‚˜Catsthe lead at 3-1. His first goal of thenight came at 1:11 of the second period. Terry Harrison and Geoff Waugh assisted. His second goal of the night was a little over five minutes laterat 6:48 of the second period. AlanSwanson assisted on the goal.
The home team to put the game away scored the next fourgoals. Roger Leonard scored on thepower play at 15:52 of the second period. Kevin Bieksa would start the third period with a goal at 6:18.
The Falcons were three of four on the power play for thegame while the â€Ã‚˜Cats were one of four. BGSU had 32 shots on goal to the â€Ã‚˜Cats 29. Jordan Sigalet in goal for the second night in a row for theFalcons had 26 saves on the night. Craig Kowalski was in his familiar position in front of the net for theâ€Ã‚˜Cats as he registered 27 saves.ÂÂÂÂ
NMU will be on the road again next weekend (Jan. 17-18) totake on the CCHA leading Ferris State University Bulldogs in Big Rapids, Mich.
