Volleyball Drops Both Matches

MARQUETTE, Mich

DENVER, Colo. - The Northern Michigan University women's volleyball team dropped both of their matches on Saturdayin the final day of action at the Colorado Premier Challenge. NMU was defeatedby Metro State, 3-1 (22-30, 30-23, 22-30, 21-30) and Cameron University, 3-0(28-30, 24-30, 28-30). The 'Cats went 1-3 at the tournament and are now 3-4 onthe season.
Against Metro State the Wildcats were led by Beth Laveen and her 16 kills.Newcomer, Holly Greenamyre had 13 kills in the loss. Kelli McCune dished out 42assists as freshman Britni Wilk had 14 digs. Aimee Dewitte served up fiveservice aces in the match.
Jennie Little and Dewitte both had 12 kills against Cameron. Anne Kinsella cameoff the bench to hand out 26 assists. Meaghan Kimball had 19 digs for thematch.
The squad is in action next week (Sept. 13-14) at the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover at Grand Valley State University.
