MARQUETTE, Mich. - The GLIACopener for the NMU Wildcats on Friday night at the Vandament Arena turned outto be a mixed bag for the 'Cats. The 'Cats were up two games to one and lostthe fourth game to Ferris State to send the match into the fifth and decidinggame. When the dust had settled the Ferris State University Bulldogs took thefive game match (30-24, 15-30, 25-30, 30-26, 15-5). NMU drops to 5-6 overalland 0-1 in the GLIAC while Ferris is now 10-2 and 1-0.
Jennie Little led the 'Cats with 17 kills as Beth Laveen had 12 to pace thesquad. Alaina Olds had a match-high 21 kills for Ferris. Kelli McCune led the'Cats with 39 assists. On the defensive front three players for Northern haddouble-digit digs. Meaghan Kimball had 18 digs, while Aimee Dewitte had 13 andMcCune had 11.
NMU is in action again on Saturday (Sept. 21) at 4:00 p.m. against Grand Valleyat the Vandament Arena.
