'Cats Claw Back For Win

MARQUETTE, Mich

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University women's volleyball team was on the ropes Tuesday night at the VandamentArena, but came back to down the Lake Superior State Lakers in GLIAC volleyballaction. Lake State won the first two games of the match (28-30, 28-30) beforethe 'Cats clawed their way back by taking the next three games for the match(30-26, 30-24, 15-13).
NMU is now 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the GLIAC while LSSU is 7-6 and 0-2.
Aimee Dewitte led the way with 21 kills while teammate Jennie Little had 19kills. Kelli McCune had 74 assists on the night for match-high honors. Six'Cats ended the match with double-digit digs. Leading the way was Dewitte with26 digs as Meaghan Kimball had 23 digs.
Ericka Marcus led the way for the Lakers with 20 kills. Kristy James had amatch-high 30 digs.
The 'Cats hit the road for their next four matches as they travel to Erie, Pa.to take on Gannon and Mercyhurst this weekend (Sept. 28-29).
