MARQUETTE, Mich.- The Northern Michigan University women's basketball teamended their three-game skid with a convincing 82-40 win over the visiting Northland College team on Sunday afternoon atthe Berry Events Center. The 'Cats picked up theirfirst win of the season and now stand at 1-3 while Northland falls to 3-4.

NMU jumped out to a 28-10 lead with about 10 minutes gone inthe first half and never looked back. At the half the 'Cats were up by a countof 40-27. For the game NMU shot over 54 percent as they also won the battle ofthe boards by a 32 to 27 rebounding advantage.

Five NMU players hit for double-digits on the day. Alyse Shier led the way with 21 points as she also had agame-high seven rebounds. Jessica Nohl added 13points and five rebounds in the win. Three 'Cats hit for 10 points as EmilySamuelson, Michelle Moard and Jackie Dummer were in double-digits.
NMU is off until they take a Florida swing before Christmas. The 'Cats willplay Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla on Dec. 16,Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla. on Dec. 18 and Eckerd College in St.Petersburg, Fla. on Dec. 19.
