Soccer Falls to Ohio Dominican

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University soccer team was defeated by Ohio Dominican University in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Panthers scored a goal in each half to shutout the Wildcats 2-0 on Friday (Oct. 12) afternoon from the NMU Soccer Field.

NMU is now 2-6 overall and 3-9 in the GLIAC. The Panthers improve to 8-4-2 and 4-3-2 in the conference.

ODU’s first goal came in the 15th minute on shot from outside of the box on the right by Jennifer Holton. The second Panther goal came late in the game at 87:09 on an unassisted shot from right outside the net by Lauren Pratt.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Musi had one save on the afternoon in her first career start. Laura Clark had six saves for the Panthers. NMU finished the game with 12 shots, and ODU with six.  Senior Amelia Johnson had four shots on goal for the ‘Cats.

Northern hosts Ashland University on Sunday (Oct. 14) at noon from the NMU Soccer Fields.
