MARQUETTE, Mich.—United States Olympic Education Center weightlifters will showcase their talent from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in the Superior Dome. The inter-squad meet will allow athletes to gain qualifying totals for future events while giving them a chance to compete in front of a home crowd.

"It's nice to compete locally so that members of the community can come out and see what we do. We enjoy showing how hard we work. We really appreciate the support we get from the community and our peers at Northern Michigan University,” said USOEC weightlifter Rael Smith.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted and will go toward updating training equipment used by both the resident and club teams.
